Choice of glider

The right choice of glider for you
When choosing a suitable paraglider, it is important to know what to look for. The following guidelines should make your decision easier.

School and intermediate category suits the beginners and intermediate pilots who only fly occasionally and want to enjoy safe, problem free flights.

Sport category is ideal for most pilots who fly just for pleasure and want to use thermals for interesting cross country flights.

Performance category is for pilots who paraglide actively. It can provide an excellent cross country flight and it is also suitable for competitions.
Competition category is for a competing pilot and those for whom paragliding has became a vital necessity. For those, who spend hours in the air, are able to handle these incredibly able gliders and can get best performance out of them.

Also the choice of the right size can strongly influence the performance of the glider. Different loading of the same glider can dramatically change the value of forward speed and the sink ratio, while keeping the glide ratio constant. The glider needs to be the right size for the weight of the pilot. We recommend to use values from the technical parameters of each wing. In case you find yourself on the border between two weight categories, we would advise the smaller size for safety reasons.

All types of Pegas gliders are equipped with a speed-system which essentially increases the gliders manoeuvrability. It is important that even at maximum speed the wings stay fully inflated and controllable.
